Assam: Man Lynched To Death Over Land Dispute in Cachar
Guwahati, 15th August: In a shocking incident, an elderly man was allegedly killed in Cachar district of Assam due to a land dispute on Tuesday.
Enam Uddin Laskar, who passed away, was Saidul Alam’s father-in-law. Saidul Alam and Paki Miah of Kajidahar had previously fought over territory.
The issue was settled at that time, but on Tuesday morning, a fresh fight erupted between the two sides.
Enam Uddin was repeatedly hit by Paki Miah with a wooden plank until he immediately passed away.
After police reached the scene they recovered the body of Enam Uddin.
The incident shocked people in the area and sparked concerns about the safety of local landowners. The police are investigating the cause and background of the two families’ land dispute.
