Assam: Man Missing Since 2 Months Found Buried in Baksa

Guwahati: Another horrifying murder incident has been revealed in Assam’s Baksa district, where a man who had been missing in the Salbari locality for more than two months and ten days was found buried at a remote place on Wednesday. This comes in the wake of an astonishing rise in horrific murders across the state.

The deceased identified as Lalsan Ali of North Bhakuamari in Salbari sub-division went missing since December 18 last year.

According to the deceased’s family, Lalsan Ali was murdered by his wife and her family over a land dispute.

Lalsan Ali’s brother claimed in front of the media that they had previously reported a missing person at the Gobardhana Police Station last year, but that the authorities had first given the issue little attention.

Afterwards, Haider Ali, the plaintiff and the brother of Lalsan, approached the top police official to discuss the incident. After that, the police detained his wife Manuwara Khatun as well as his siblings Hussain and Ahmed Ali on multiple occasions for questioning.

It’s interesting to note that on Tuesday, the brothers of Manuwara Khatun and two other accomplices—neighbors Kasem Khan and Amin Ali—confessed to the murder to the police.

Meanwhile, police arrived at the scene on Wednesday afternoon together with the accused Ahmed Ali, and in the presence of senior police officers and a magistrate, they exhumed Lalsan Ali’s body from its burial place.

The body was found buried in the jungle “Faring Bagan”, located in a remote area of ​​the Salbari subdivision in Baksa.
