Assam: Man Severely Injured in Acid Attack, Admitted To GMCH

Guwahati: In a horrifying incident, a resident of Goreswar in Assam sustained burn  injuries after miscreants allegedly thrown acid at him, officials informed on Thursday.

The incident reportedly took place yesterday evening.

The victim identified as Manik Debnath, a resident of Bokulguri in Goreswar in the Baksa district of Assam.

The assault left burn wounds on Debnath.

According to officials, the attack may have been motivated by a family dispute.

According to the victim’s wife, there may have been some personal animosity behind the incident.

Four miscreants allegedly resorted to throwing acid at the victim when the fight grew violent.

The accused were identified as Bipin Rajbongshi, Deven Rajbongshi, Kanak Rajbongshi and Pinku Biswas, police said.

They stated that the attack occurred as the victim was walking home from work in the evening.

He was hurried to a small hospital after the incident.

According to additional information provided by officials, Debnath has now been transferred to the Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), where he is currently receiving care.

Debnath is in an extremely serious condition and requires round-the-clock monitoring, according to doctors at GMCH.
