Guwahati: Assam Police has arrested the accused who shot his girlfriend’s brother on Sunday morning in the Basistha area of Guwahati.
The arrestee was identified as Samar Roy and he was kept at the Bhangagarh Police Station for interrogation.
The Police officials further seized a 7.65 MM handmade pistol from his possession.
It may be mentioned that Roy shot his girlfriend’s brother on Sunday morning in Basistha area of Guwahati.
Samar shot his girlfriend’s brother named Prem Kumar Dev.
According to reports, the accused travelled from West Bengal to kill Dev because he did not accept Samar’s connection with his sister.
Roy took refuge inside a room after the incident. When police arrived on the scene, they apprehended the accused as well as the firearm.
Dev, who was injured, was transported to the hospital for treatment.
It may be noted that the victim’s family had previously filed a complaint against the accused Roy, who has been missing since then.
Reports further claimed that Dev is now out of danger.
