Assam: Manas National Park Sees Record Tourist Boom, Revenue Surges

Assam: Manas National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site in Assam, is witnessing an unprecedented surge in tourist numbers, leading to a significant boost in revenue.

In just two months, the park has raked in a staggering Rs 33 lakh, attracting over 10,000 visitors, including 500 international tourists.

The park’s diverse offerings, including jeep safaris, elephant safaris, and river rafting, have captured the imagination of tourists from around the world.

These activities provide visitors with the opportunity to explore the park’s stunning landscapes and encounter its rich wildlife.

The park’s various ranges, including Bansbari (Kahitam), Bhuyanpara, Panbari, and Kuklung, have been witnessing a steady influx of tourists. This surge in footfall is a testament to the growing popularity of eco-tourism in the region.

Barin Boro, Ranger of the Bansbari Range, expressed his delight at the increasing number of visitors. He encouraged more tourists to experience the park’s unique beauty and urged them to include Manas National Park in their travel plans.

The continued influx of tourists is not only boosting the park’s revenue but also contributing to its conservation efforts. This positive trend is expected to have a significant impact on the local economy and wildlife protection initiatives.
