Assam: Massive Fire Engulfs Jamdaha Bekar Chowk, Eight Shops Reduced to Ashes

Assam: A devastating fire broke out late last night at Jamdaha Bekar Chowk, falling under the jurisdiction of Manikpur Police Station.

The blaze, which is believed to have originated from a motorcycle garage due to an electrical short circuit, rapidly consumed eight commercial establishments.

Firefighters from Bijni, Abhayapuri, and Kajalgaon were immediately dispatched to the scene, deploying five fire engines in an attempt to control the raging inferno. Despite their valiant efforts, the flames proved too strong, ultimately reducing the shops to ashes.

The affected establishments include a bike garage, a salon, two seed stores, a tent house, an e-rickshaw garage, and two bamboo furniture shops. The fire has resulted in an estimated loss of Rs 60 lakhs, leaving shop owners and the local community in a state of shock and despair.

Authorities are currently investigating the incident to determine the exact cause of the fire and assess the extent of the damages.
