Assam Migrant Worker Found Dead in Arunachal Pradesh Under Suspicious Circumstances; Family Alleges Murder
Guwahati: In a disturbing incident that has shocked the residents of Bunmaja Pathar village in Assam’s Baksa district, a 33-year-old migrant worker, Jeharul Islam, was found dead under suspicious circumstances in Arunachal Pradesh after being missing for over a week.
Jeharul, a mason by profession, had reportedly disappeared from his workplace in the Aalo Police Station area of Siang district. His body was recovered by Arunachal Pradesh police nine days later and handed over to his family, who claim the manner of death strongly suggests foul play.
According to the grieving family, Jeharul’s hands and feet were found bound, indicating that he may have been murdered and his body subsequently dumped. The family alleges that he was lured with promises of work and then killed, dismissing the possibility of an accidental death.
A formal complaint has been lodged at Aalo Police Station, where the family has named two individuals—Harizul Islam and Munser Ali—as suspects in the alleged murder. They have urged the authorities to take swift and strict action against the accused.
Jeharul’s death has sparked outrage and sorrow in his home village, where his body was received amid an atmosphere of deep mourning. While police have yet to issue an official statement on the exact cause of death, investigations into the case are ongoing.
