Assam minister Atul Bora’s convoy meets with accident in Hojai, driver injured
Guwahati: Assam agriculture minister Atul Bora’s convoy met with a road accident in Hojai district of Assam on Thursday morning.
The incident took place at NH-54 in Barbaha area of the district.
As per the sources of MyNewsNE, the convoy vehicle, a Bolero with registered number bearing AS 02 AA 1043 attempted to overtake an Army vehicle but collided with it instead.
The vehicle’s driver was injured in the collision and was immediately rushed to Hojai Civil Hospital and is thought to be in critical condition.
Bora and his convoy were on their way to Hojai to assess the water situation when the disaster occurred.
Earlier on July 29, 2021, Atul Bora’s convoy met with a road accident at Umran Dairy near Nongpoh on the Guwahati-Shillong Road.
Reportedly, Minister Bora did not sustain any injuries in the incident.
The convoy was on its way to Silchar from Guwahati when one of the vehicles turned turtle after it lost control at Umran Dairy in Meghalaya’s Ri-Bhoi district.
Two police constables who were in the minister’s pilot car, however, got minor injuries in the accident.
