Assam Minister Pijush Hazarika Targets AIUDF Chief Badruddin Ajmal
Northeast Desk, 17th November: Following Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma’s recent statement, state cabinet minister Pijush Hazarika has directed criticism towards All India Democratic United Front (AIUDF) chief Badruddin Ajmal. Hazarika, in his media statement, echoed CM Sarma’s remark that Ajmal is a symbol representing individuals involved in wrongful activities in the state. He further specified that a significant number of people in this group are from the ‘Bangladeshi origin community’ in Assam.
Hazarika asserted, “Ajmal is a symbol. A lot of people are in Assam through Ajmal’s symbol. Among them are love jihadis, there are criminals too. There may be a few good persons as well. But there are land grabbers in the Ajmal group. Mostly they are engaged in love jihad, land jihad, and crime. The indigenous factor does not come in the Ajmal symbol, I don’t think so. But we have dealt firmly with this Ajmal group. Most of these are from the Bangladeshi origin people.”
This statement by Pijush Hazarika follows Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma’s recent assertion that Ajmal represents not just an individual but a symbol for those involved in wrongful activities, including love jihad, land jihad, and criminal activities in the state.
