Guwahati, 9th November: In a tragic incident, an 8-year-old boy lost his life in a gruesome attack at a timber mill in Assam’s Udalguri on November 8.
The incident took place in Medhapara area of the district.
The minor had visited the mill with a seemingly innocent request for a wooden plank to craft a cricket bat.
However, he was attacked by the accused, Majnu Ali, who used an electric saw, causing fatal injuries to the boy’s head.
The motive behind this heinous crime is yet to be ascertained.
Another minor who was in the vicinity raised the alarm by shouting, which led the accused to flee the scene.
The second minor reported the incident to villagers, who subsequently informed the police.
As of now, no arrests have been made, and further investigations are ongoing.
