Guwahati: An eight-year-old boy was killed and his father was injured in a road accident in Baksa district of Assam on Wednesday.
The incident took place in the Ananda Bazar area of the district.
According to reports, the victim was riding a four-wheeler and suddenly lost control of the car and rolled over three times on the road. In the incident, the eight-year-old son in the car died on the spot while his father got severely injured.
Upon receiving information about the accident, police rushed to the spot retrieved the body of the deceased child and sent for post-mortem reports while his father was rushed to the nearby hospital.
The deceased child has been identified as Mrinmoy Medhi while the father has been identified as Mrigen Medhi.
It may be mentioned that the father-son duo was returning after attending a wedding in Roumari village of the district.
