Guwahati: In the midst of the festivities of Rangali Bihu, the city of Satra is a heinous act in Majuli.
Miscreants attempted to rape a young foreigner in Aflamukh ferry ghat in Majuli. The young woman had came for a visit from Hyderabad to Majuli. The incident took place during the day on Thursday.
The accident took place in front of Aflamukh ferry ghat in Majuli. The girl was tried to rape by miscreants at a hub near Aflamukh ferry ghat on Thursday.
According to incident, the young woman was walking down from the e-rickshaw. A few people heard the young woman screaming in the middle of the lobby. Hearing the screams, the youths rescued the girl and informed the police. The young woman’s clothes were torn off and the body was stained with blood due to the attack by miscreants. The young woman is also suspected to have been beaten up.
Police reached the spot and arranged for the girl to be taken to the hospital. And the police have launched an investigation into the incident.
The main accused has already been identified and arrested by the police.
It may be recalled that the accused had earlier been in police custody on charges related to rape. The accused was released from jail around 10-15 days ago. The heinous act was carried out again after coming out of police custody. The incident has created a sensation in the entire area. Police are investigating the matter.
