Assam: Missing Schoolgirls From Guwahati rescued in Tihu, two held

Guwahati, 15th February: The two girls who had gone missing from Guwahati’s Noonmati area have been rescued on February 15.

The two girls were safely rescued from Tihu in the Nalbari district.

The girls, both Class VII students at Panchadeep Jatiya Vidyalaya, attended a puja in their school but did not return home.

Family sources revealed that they initially returned home after the puja but later left again, turning off their mobile phones, causing worry among their families.

In a recent update, the father of one of the missing girls stated, “I have got to know that my daughter along with her friend has been rescued by the police in Tihu and they will be brought to Noonmati police station shortly.”

The father also claimed that an accused named Rahul was involved in the disappearance, leading to the arrest of two suspects, Rahul and Mithun.

According to the victim’s father, the girls were lured to jobs in Hyderabad with a bond contract of five years.

However, on Thursday morning, a WhatsApp message surfaced, claiming that the girls fled voluntarily, seeking success and intending to work for the next five years.

The message urged the police and media to stay away and not try to track them, asserting that all such attempts would be futile.

However, the veracity of the sender of the message remains uncertain.
