Guwahati: A disturbing incident unfolded on the morning of February 22, as a mob attacked a gynaecologist posted at Margherita FRU/Civil Hospital. Dr. Selix Alam was brutally assaulted by a large crowd in front of the Civil Hospital, following a family dispute.
According to reports, the enraged mob claimed that Dr. Selix Alam had eloped with a Hindu female employee of the Margherita Civil Hospital, who resided in Jagun, several months ago. The girl’s family members alleged that Dr. Alam had been blackmailing the girl and her family, leading to the violent confrontation.
Following the incident, Margherita police promptly arrived at the scene and brought the situation under control. Both Dr. Selix Alam and the victim were taken to the Margherita Police Station, where the matter was being handled at the time of this report. The investigation into the matter is currently underway, and further details are awaited.
