Assam: In a significant success for law enforcement, Morigaon police have arrested ten cybercriminals as part of a vigorous crackdown on cybercrime across the district.
The operation, led by Additional Superintendent of Police (Crime Branch) Samiran Baishya, targeted areas including Moirabari, Lahrighat, Bhuragaon, and Mayang.
The arrests are part of an ongoing effort to dismantle a wide network of cybercriminals operating in the region. According to special sources within the police, the number of arrests may rise as investigations progress. The suspects are believed to be involved in various illegal activities, including online fraud and identity theft.
Several police teams coordinated the drive, which was described as one of the most extensive operations against cybercrime in the district.
Authorities are currently interrogating the detained individuals to gather more information about their operations and potential accomplices. The police have urged the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious online activities.
