Guwahati: A mother allegedly killed her own child by stabbing her with a machete in Assam.
The accused was identified as Jaya Mandal and the incident took place in Assam’s Barpeta district.
According to reports, Jaya breastfed the one-and-a-half-year-old child, who was crying. Later she locked the youngster in a room and slapped her in a fit of wrath.
It was further reported that Jaya then took a machete and repeatedly stabbed the infant, killing her in the process.
Meanwhile, following a complaint by her husband over the incident the police have arrested Mandal.
It may be mentioned that Jaya and her family were having financial difficulties, which resulted in the infant’s murder.
