Guwahati: A mother-son duo have been arrested for allegedly being involved in drug smuggling in Nagaon district of Assam
The duo identified as Junmoni Begum and Jahidur Rahman, residents of Mikirbheta in Morigaon district.
Acting on a tip off, Police officials luanched an operation in Jajori area of the district.
During the operation, the duo were on a scooty and was on their way to Mikirbheta when they were intercepted by the Officer-in-charge Tushar Jyoti Bora.
While checking, the police officials recovered 30 containers filled with heroin weighting 3.40 grams from their possession.
Meanwhile, police officials have launched an investigation and the duo is currently being interrogated.
