Guwahati: In a tragic incident, a mother has been suspected of killing her five-year-old daughter in Golaghat district of Assam on Tuesday.
The incident took place at the Dergaon town of the district.
As per reports, locals claim that the mother tried to commit suicide after killing her daughter.
The mother identified as Bonoshri Senapati has been rushed to Tezpur Medical College Hospital in a serious condition with severe head injuries.
According to police officials, “Neighbors found both the mother and the infant in a pool of blood inside their room. A machete was discovered near the crime scene. The mother was in critical condition while the infant was certified dead. Locals believed the mother had murdered her daughter and attempted suicide.”
It needs to be noted that a case has been registered and police have been trying to collect more information in the case.
