Guwahati, 31st January: The village of Kakaragaon Bhatipara in Chirang, Assam, is shrouded in grief as news emerges of the tragic demise of CRPF jawan Lambadhar Singha. Hailing from this serene village under Bongaigaon district, Lambadhar Singha lost his life during a fierce gun battle with Maoists in Chhattisgarh’s Bijapur district on January 30. Alongside Singha, two other CRPF personnel sacrificed their lives, while 15 others sustained injuries in the encounter. The entire state mourns the loss of this brave soldier, with Assam expressing solidarity with the grieving family and honoring the indomitable spirit of Lambadhar Singha.
Assam’s Braveheart: Gopinath Basumatary Among Injured CRPF Personnel in Chhattisgarh Maoist Clash
In a tragic turn of events, Assam’s Gopinath Basumatary, a CRPF personnel, sustained a splinter injury during the intense gun battle with Maoists in Chhattisgarh’s Bijapur district. Hailing from Assam, Basumatary is undergoing treatment for his injuries at a hospital. The incident unfolded when a joint team from the 201 battalion of the CoBRA and 150 battalion of the CRPF engaged in establishing a Forward Operating Base (FOB) along the Bijapur-Sukma border faced a sudden exchange of fire with Maoists. The state extends its support to Gopinath Basumatary, praying for his swift recovery and honoring his dedication to service.
