Assam: MP Gaurav Gogoi Urges Minister Nitin Gadkari to Address National Highway 37 Tender Delays

Guwahati, 24th July: Gaurav Gogoi, Member of Parliament from Jorhat, Assam, met with Nitin Gadkari, Minister of Road Transport and Highways, to discuss the deteriorating condition of National Highway 37. The meeting took place during the ongoing Monsoon Session of Parliament.

Taking to the microblogging site ‘X’, Gogoi expressed his concerns about the repeated cancellations of the tender process for the Jorhat to Jhanji section of the highway. He noted that the tender process has been initiated and canceled three times, leading to significant delays in essential repairs and upgrades.

Gogoi further conveyed his skepticism regarding the fourth round of the tender process, questioning whether it will finally lead to the much-needed improvements for the Jorhat to Jhanji portion of NH 37. He urged Minister Gadkari to ensure a swift and positive resolution to the ongoing issues, emphasizing the importance of the highway for local commuters and regional connectivity.
