Assam: Multiple Major Fires Ravage Properties

Guwahati, 6th September: In a series of unfortunate incidents, major fires have erupted at various locations across Assam, resulting in significant property damage worth lakhs of rupees.

Fire at Plastic Carton Godown, Jorabat:

The first incident occurred at a plastic carton godown in the 14th Mile area of Jorabat, Kamrup Metro district, during the early hours of 6th September today. The fire initially broke out on the previous night and intensified after a cylinder explosion at approximately 3 am.

Local authorities, including the police and fire brigade, swiftly responded to the scene. Five fire tenders were deployed, and their relentless efforts successfully extinguished the blazing inferno. While no casualties were reported, the incident caused the destruction of property valued at several lakhs of rupees, leaving nearby residents in a state of panic.

Fire Engulfs Kumari Bazaar, Goalpara:

In another unfortunate incident, a major fire erupted at Kumari Bazaar in Goalpara district earlier today, consuming more than eight business establishments. The fire was eventually brought under control with the assistance of local residents and firefighting personnel. The extent of the property damage is yet to be assessed.

Electric Wire Spark Triggers Fire in Manulyapar, Hatsingimari:

Lastly, a massive fire was ignited in Manulyapar, Hatsingimari, reportedly due to a torn 11,000-volt electric wire. Despite the situation becoming tense, the electricity department authorities failed to reach the scene in time. The exact cause of the fire has not been determined, and fortunately, no casualties or injuries have been reported.

These incidents serve as a reminder of the importance of fire safety measures and emergency response readiness to mitigate such unfortunate events in the future. Authorities are expected to conduct investigations to ascertain the causes of these fires and take necessary preventive measures.
