Assam: Nagaon Police Seize Suspected Heroin, Arrest 5 in Joint Operation
Guwahati, 9th May: In a collaborative effort to combat the illicit drug trade, a team from Nagaon Police, led by Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Kaliabar, partnered with officers from Samaguri Police Station and Jakhalbanda Police Station in a successful operation.
During the operation, authorities recovered 26 small plastic containers believed to contain heroin, with a total net weight of 2.07 grams. The seizure marks a significant blow to drug trafficking networks operating in the region and highlights the ongoing challenges faced by law enforcement agencies in tackling narcotics-related crimes.
In a swift response, five individuals suspected of involvement in the possession and distribution of narcotics were apprehended and are currently in police custody awaiting further legal proceedings. The arrests underscore the commitment of law enforcement authorities to disrupt and dismantle illicit drug networks operating in Nagaon and surrounding areas.
