Assam: Nagaon Police Seize Suspected Heroin in Morikolong Raid, accused arrested

Guwahati, 13th May: In a decisive move against drug trafficking, the Nagaon Police, under the guidance of Sub-Inspector Mitu Das hailing from Morikolong, orchestrated a successful raid resulting in the confiscation of 16 plastic containers believed to contain heroin, weighing approximately 3.02 grams. The operation, executed by a specialized team, culminated in the apprehension of the suspected perpetrator.

The meticulously planned operation, characterized by precision and coordination, was aimed at dismantling a suspected drug trafficking network operating within the Morikolong vicinity. The seized substances, meticulously concealed in plastic containers, are suspected to be heroin, awaiting further forensic analysis to confirm their composition.

Sub-Inspector Mitu Das, the driving force behind the operation, emphasized the significance of the seizure in combating drug-related criminal activities within the region. “This seizure deals a substantial blow to the illicit drug trade plaguing our community. We remain steadfast in our commitment to enforcing the law and safeguarding our neighborhoods from the detrimental effects of narcotics,” stated Das.

The identity of the apprehended individual remains undisclosed as investigations into the matter progress.

In a parallel operation, Biswanath police made a significant stride in curbing drug proliferation by seizing 8 grams of heroin. Subsequent to this seizure, law enforcement personnel took one individual into custody, marking another stride in the ongoing battle against narcotics trafficking.
