Guwahati, 25th September: In a prestigious virtual session organized by the National Centre for Good Governance (NCGG), Smt. Varnali Deka, IAS, Deputy Commissioner of Nalbari, Assam, demonstrated her leadership on an international stage. The event, held under the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances, Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances, and Pensions, featured an international delegation from Mauritius.
Deka, the only representative from Assam and the entire Northeast region, was one of five selected officials from across India to participate. As a recipient of the Prime Minister’s Award for Excellence in Public Administration, she emphasized the vital role of District Collectors in addressing governance challenges, pursuing reforms, and implementing innovative solutions in line with the PM’s Awards objectives.
Her presentation also highlighted the unique challenges faced by women in administrative roles, offering personal insights into balancing leadership with transformative governance practices.
