Assam: Narcotics Seized, One Arrested in Tamarhat Police Operation
Tamarhat police conducted a successful operation on Tuesday evening, resulting in the seizure of suspected brown sugar and the apprehension of one individual. The targeted raid was executed based on reliable information received by law enforcement.
The police team, spearheaded by Circle Inspector Ratul Haloi and including Sub-Inspector Bikash Pratim Mahanta, Officer-in-Charge of Paglahat Women Police Station, along with SI Rupam Deka and other officers, strategically raided a computer stall located in Satseura, which falls under the jurisdiction of Tamarhat Police Station.
During the meticulously planned search, authorities detained Mofijul Hoque, a 30-year-old resident of Bhatipetla village in the Dhubri district, son of Supaddin Sheikh. Upon searching the premises, police recovered six plastic containers holding a total weight of 7.86 grams of a substance strongly suspected to be Brown Sugar. The suspected narcotics, along with the weight of the containers, were officially seized at the location following established legal procedures.
The seized substance has been dispatched for thorough forensic analysis to definitively confirm its nature. Simultaneously, police have initiated a comprehensive investigation to uncover any potential links to larger drug trafficking networks operating within the area. Law enforcement officials have reiterated their commitment to ongoing efforts aimed at combating illegal narcotics, with the goal of enhancing public safety and upholding law and order throughout the district.
