Sivasagar, Assam: In a shocking turn of events, a national-level athlete from Sivasagar district has been allegedly raped by two individuals. The incident took place on Friday, November 22, 2023, in the Dimou area.
According to reports, the victim, a teenage girl, was abducted by two brothers, Sunil and Bhaiti, from the Shikaribheti area. The assailants reportedly used a Tata AC vehicle to transport the victim to a secluded residence located approximately 3 kilometers away.
The horrifying crime was allegedly committed while loud DJ music was playing inside the house, suggesting a deliberate attempt to drown out any cries for help.
A formal complaint has been lodged at the Dimou Police Station, and the victim is currently undergoing medical treatment at the Sivasagar Civil Hospital.
Local authorities have initiated an investigation into the matter, and further details are awaited.
