Assam: New Dialysis Centre Inaugurated in Kokrajhar, Offering Free Treatment
Kokrajhar, Assam: A significant milestone in healthcare was achieved today with the inauguration of a new dialysis centre at Kokrajhar Medical College and Hospital.
The centre, established under the Prime Minister’s National Dialysis Programme, is equipped with four state-of-the-art dialysis units and is capable of serving up to 12 patients daily.
The inauguration ceremony was graced by Assam Cabinet Minister Urkhao Gora Brahma, who emphasized the increasing prevalence of kidney-related ailments in the region. He highlighted the challenges faced by patients who previously had to travel long distances for dialysis, often incurring significant costs and inconvenience.
With the establishment of this new centre, patients in Kokrajhar and surrounding areas can now access free dialysis services, significantly improving their quality of life. This initiative is expected to alleviate the burden on patients and their families, providing much-needed relief in the region.
