Guwahati: As many as nine business establishments were completely gutted in a massive fire that broke out at a market area in Darrang district of Assam.
The incident occurred at Besimari area of the district on Thursday night.
According to reports, the cause of the fire is suspected to be an electrical short-circuit.
However, the exact cause is yet to be ascertained.
Meanwhile, fire tenders rushed to the affected place and doused the fire in the wee hours of Friday.
It needs to be mentioned that properties worth lakhs were burnt to ashes.
No person was injured in the fire.
