Assam: Nirmal Kumar Brahma Files Nomination for Sidli By-Election, Backed by Prominent Alliance Leaders
Guwahati: Nirmal Kumar Brahma, the candidate for the United People’s Party Liberal (UPPL) supported by the BJP and AGP alliance, officially filed his nomination for the Sidli ST Legislative Assembly Constituency (LAC) by-election in Chirang. The nomination was submitted at the District Commissioner’s office in Kajalgaon.
Brahma was accompanied by a strong lineup of political figures, including Pramod Boro, Chief Executive Member of the Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR), MP Jayanta Basumatary, Minister Ashok Singhal, and several UPPL leaders like Panibushan Choudhary and Rwngwra Narzary.
A large public rally, organized by the UPPL Central Committee, preceded the nomination filing. The rally began at Premsingh Brahma Rural Stadium and concluded at the Chirang DC office, showcasing significant support from the local community.
Confident of victory, Brahma told the media, “The people of the entire constituency are in full support of the UPPL. Our victory is 100% assured.” His campaign benefits from widespread backing from the alliance and local voters, boosting his chances in the upcoming by-election.
