Guwahati: The banned Naga militant group National Socialist Council of Nagaland (NSCN) has been extorting money in the Charaideo district of Assam.
As per reports, the NSCN (Khaplang) gang has sought money from Sonari vehicle owners.
They demanded an amount of Rs. 5 lakhs for each vehicle irrespective of size.
On behalf of the outlawed group, Colonel Manlai made the demand for the money.
One of the victims reported the extortion at Sonari Police Station after the unreasonable demand was made.
