Guwahati, 7th December: One person has been arrested by Assam Police from Merapani under Golaghat district on suspicion of having connections with Maoist links.
The arrested person identified as Aditya Saikia.
As per sources, Saikia was earlier apprehended in 2012 for a similar case, had served a jail term related to his alleged Maoist affiliations. He was granted bail after completing a three-month sentence.
Acting on specific intelligence, Assam Police conducted a search operation leading to Saikia’s recent arrest.
The authorities are currently conducting a thorough investigation into the matter.
