Guwahati: In a major crackdown on wildlife smuggling in Assam, Jorhat Police arrested one person for allegedly being involved in the illegal smuggling of Rhino horn on Tuesday.
The man was apprehended near Mohbondha under Pulibor police station, Jorhat superintendent of police Mohan Lal Meena said.
Police officials also recovered a rhino horn from his possession.
The smuggler is a resident of Titabor under Jorhat district.
Meanwhile, Meena informed that further interrogations are underway and investigation has been initiated to ascertain if he is involved with any gang.
