Assam: One drug peddler arrested in late night drug raid in South Salmara-Mankachar
Guwahati: In a continued crackdown on drug trafficking, Assam Police in a late-night on Tuesday night apprehended a drug peddler during a raid conducted in South Salmara-Mankachar district of the state.
The accused, identified as Ramzan Ali (24), hails from Chirakhowa village under Mankachar subdivision of Dhubri district.
Acting on a tip-off, Officer-in-Charge Vikas Saikia conducted a raid in the Chirakhowa Public Works Department road.
During the raid, police seized 11 containers of suspected heroin along with a mobile phone, and cash amounting to Rs 485.
This operation is part of an ongoing effort by Kalapani Police to curb drug-related activities in the region.
Officials informed that investigations are currently underway to identify other individuals linked to the network.
