Guwahati: In the ongoing war against drugs Assam Police arrested one suspected drug peddler in Assam’s Tinsukia district.
Following a tip off about the illegal drug smuggling in the area, the Doomdoma police launched a joint operation with the team members of the Veer Lachit Sena group in the localities near the Doomdoma railway track and arrested the accused.
The arrestee was identified as Aftar Rahman also known as Raja and he is resident of Puranigudam in Nagaon district.
The police officials recovered an amount of total 5.8 grams of drugs from the accused.
Legal action has been initiated into the matter and further investigation is underway.
