Assam: One injured in Rhino Attack in Gohpur, hospitalised

Guwahati, 6th February: Gohpur was plunged into chaos when a rhinoceros went on a rampage in the area, leaving one individual injured.

The victim, identified as Padum Bora, fell victim to the bull’s ferocity as it freely roamed through Gohpur.

According to eyewitnesses, the rhino emerged from the jungle at dawn, catching residents off guard. Panic spread as the massive creature made its presence felt, eventually seeking refuge in a local pond. Despite efforts from authorities and forest department personnel, the situation escalated when the rhino attacked Bora while he was on his way to a nearby paddy field.

Bora was immediately shifted to the hospital via 108 ambulances. Authorities and forest department personnel are now working together to safely return the rhino to its natural habitat, aiming to mitigate the risk to residents.
