Assam: One-month-old Infant Dies after Getting ‘Kabiraji’ Treatment in Nagaon

Guwahati, 14th November: In the era of science and technology, blind faith in a Kabiraj (traditional Ayurvedic practitioner in India) resulted in the tragic death of one of the one-month-old twins in Bhakat village, located in Nagaon’s Rupahihat area on November 13.

According to reports, Azizul Haque’s wife recently gave birth to twins. When both infants fell ill, the parents opted to consult a Kabiraj named Golapjan, also known as Golapi Kabiraj, from Morigaon’s Dubaguri village instead of seeking the expertise of a qualified doctor.

Unfortunately, things took a turn for the worse for the twin babies, leading to the death of one, while the other remains in critical condition in the hospital.

A recently surfaced video on social media reveals the fraudulent Kabiraj gripping one of the infants by the back of the neck and striking them with tree branch leaves, causing the infant to cry out in pain.

Despite Golapi Kabiraj’s ineffective treatment, Azizul Haque’s twins were eventually transferred to Nagaon Medical College hospital, where one of them succumbed to the illness.

It has now been revealed that Golapi Kabiraj has a history of being accused of causing harm to children through his dubious methods of curing illnesses. According to sources, this individual has spent considerable time in prison.

Meanwhile, Azizul Haque and his family have chosen not to provide comments to the media regarding the aforementioned issue.
