Assam: Over 60 shops evicted in eviction drive at Hojai

Guwahati: One more time eviction drive has been carried out in the state and this time the eviction drive has been carried out at the Hojai’s Purana Bazar.

The rash decision of the administration led to the collapse of a business called Aachit Das among the businessmen and subsequently the situation became even more heated.

According to reports, around 60 shops were evicted. Meanwhile, around four JCB’s were used for the eviction drive in the area.

Moreover, locals claimed that  the administration was failed to show any official documents for the eviction so the people created a heated situation agaisnt the eviction in the area.

Around 60 shops located in Hojai Purana Bazar were evicted from 10 am today with four JCB.

The public has alleged that no proper eviction documents have been shown as a result of creating a heated situation.

Hundreds of people took to the streets against the eviction. Slogans like Murdabaad and other were also used by the people.
