Assam Pays Tribute to the Braveheart, Bir Raghab Moran
Guwahati: Assam is today and tomorrow commemorating the indomitable spirit of Bir Raghab Moran, the iconic freedom fighter who ignited the spark of rebellion against the oppressive monarchy.
The State Government, in partnership with the Assam Moran Sabha, has organized a series of events to honor his legacy.
Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma led the tributes, lauding Bir Raghab Moran as a symbol of courage, patriotism, and unwavering resistance. “His legacy is a source of immense pride for all Assamese people, particularly the Moran community,” the Chief Minister said. He expressed hope that the celebrations would inspire future generations to embrace the values of freedom, justice, and unity.
Bir Raghab Moran’s name is etched in the annals of Assamese history as the leader of the first mass revolution in 1769. His exceptional organizational skills, strategic acumen, and unwavering patriotism made him a formidable force against tyranny. His unwavering commitment to the cause of the oppressed and exploited continues to inspire generations.
