Guwahati: A person was caught by the public in Assam’s Jorhat while attempting to escape with a stolen purse.
The incident occurred near Marwari Thakur Bari, where the pickpocket was apprehended after a member of the public raised an alarm.
The stolen purse was recovered from the person, who is reportedly a resident of Raja Maidam in Jorhat.
The public’s immediate action ensured that the thief did not get away with the stolen goods.
The incident was immediately reported to the police, who arrived at the spotand took the pickpocket into custody.
The accused was then taken to the police station for further investigation.
