Guwahati: A high-speed water pipeline burst at the 275 MW Kopili Dam Power House of NEEPCO (North Eastern Electric Power Corporation Limited, a Union Ministry of Power Undertaking) in Dima Hasao district of Assam on Saturday.
According to reports, the penstock pipe that transports water from the Umrangso dam to the hydropower building reportedly ruptured early this morning.
The Kopili Hydro Electric Plant was also flooded to a great extent.
It may be mentioned that a similar incident occurred in 2019 at the Kopili hydropower facility in Umrangso, which was reported by North Eastern Electric Power Corporation (NEEPCO).
