Assam: PM Inaugurates Cancer Care Centre in Dibrugarh

Guwahati: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday inaugurated Cancer Centre at Assam Medical College and Hospital campus at Dibrugarh in Assam during his visit to the state.

Moreover, the PM also inaugurated six other cancer centres from AMCH campus.

Apart from the AMCH cancer centre, PM Modi has launched cancer centres at Barpeta, Tezpur, Jorhat, Darrang, Kokrajhar, and Lakhimpur.

The Prime Minister will also lay the foundation stone for seven additional cancer centres in Goalpara, Dhubri, Nagaon, Golaghat, Sivasagar, Tinsukia, and Nalbari, which will be built in the coming years.

“On behalf of the people of Assam, I send my deepest appreciation to Hon PM Shri @narendramodi ji for inaugurating Cancer Centre at Assam Medical College & Hospital campus, Dibrugarh,” Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said in a tweet.

He added, “The centre will assist us in carrying out our aim of providing cancer care to Assam’s most distant areas.”
