Assam Police Access Vital Plans of Terror Outfits Al-Qaeda, ABT

Guwahati: The Assam Police gained access to crucial data and decrypted the operations and strategies of Ansarullah Bangla Team (ABT), an Islamic terrorist group with a base in Bangladesh after dismantling five ABT modules in the state.

The Assam Police have reportedly decrypted AQIS/elaborate ABT’s plans for Assam and other regions of the North Eastern region.

According to the authorities, the AQIS/ABT members used specialised contemporary smartphone apps for communication. The communication method is really advanced. There are some installed apps. Some individuals from Bangladesh have arrived, installed the app, engaged in conversation, and then removed the app.

Since March of this year, Assam police have detained at least 31 people, including a Bangladeshi national, and dismantled five AQIS/ABT modules in the state.

Jahura Khatun was detained by the authorities on August 7 in the Dhubri area due to her claimed affiliation with the Bangladeshi terrorist group ABT. Police claim that her spouse, Abu Tallah, is also sought after because of his alleged affiliation with the terrorist group.

Police claimed that Khatun had been attempting to defend those connected to Ansarul Islam. Moreover, two mobile phones were seized from her possession, one of which was burnt.
