Guwahati, 18th December: Assam Police with support from Assam Rifles’ Silchar-based Field Intelligence Unit, successfully apprehended three militants associated with the Naga National Council (NNC).
The arrested individuals, identified as Sarjan Pouning Rongmai (45), Dituodayang Rongmai (41), and Namjaorei Gangmei (41), were involved in recent disturbances.
The joint operation led by Superintendent of Police Numal Mahata targeted Kroulong and Nandailung villages near the Assam-Manipur border, approximately 60 kilometers from Silchar.
The action aimed to neutralize the NNC insurgents following increased activities in the area.
