Guwahati, August 19, 2024: In a joint operation, the police and Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) raided No. 2 Goraimari in Panbari police station area, Bijni, Chirang district, on Sunday. The raid resulted in the arrest of two siblings, Nabir Hussain (32) and Mizanur Rahman (24), who are notorious traffickers.
The authorities seized a significant amount of drugs and counterfeit currency during the raid. Items recovered include:
- Three boxes of soap filled with drugs
- 119 plastic containers with narcotics
- A Bolero car (registration number AS 26G 1366)
- Rs 33,000 in cash
- Rs 43,000 in fake currency notes
The operation highlights ongoing efforts to combat drug trafficking and counterfeit currency in the region.
