Assam Police Apprehended 4 For Having Links With ULFA-I

Guwahati: The Tinsukia Police arrested four people, including two women, on suspicion of having ties to the terrorist organisation United Liberation Front Asom-Independent (ULFA-I) on Sunday.

Reportedly, the three suspects out of the four were identified as Mrinali Gogoi, Geetashree Bora and Amarjyoti Barua who is also known as Montu Barua. They were apprehended in Nagaon district’s Panitola.

Additionally, the fourth suspect, Sourav Chetia, was arrested from Panimudia area.

Earlier today, massive police-paramilitary operations were carried out at Rupohibam and Nabil in Demow under the supervision of Superintendent of Police Subhjyoti Bora.

Moreover, they were able to apprehend one of the suspects in the case. Mohendra Baruah was named as the accused.

However, police suspected Baruah of having ties to the banned militant group. He is being held at the Demow Police Station.
