Assam Police Apprehends and Deports Bangladeshi Infiltrator Near International Border
Guwahati: In a swift operation on January 3, the Assam Police apprehended an illegal Bangladeshi national, Tushar Imran, near the international border.
The individual, caught attempting unauthorized entry into Indian territory, was promptly deported back to Bangladesh.
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma took to his official X handle to commend the police personnel for their vigilant efforts. He emphasized the state’s unwavering commitment to maintaining border security, praising the operation as a testament to the robust security measures in place.
The operation, based on specific intelligence, highlights the ongoing efforts by Assam’s law enforcement to prevent unlawful crossings and ensure the integrity of the border.
This latest success follows a similar operation last month, where the Assam Police apprehended and deported five Bangladeshi nationals identified as Hansi Akhtar, Sraboni, Shohagi Khan, Sumi Khan, and Nila Akhtar.
Authorities have reiterated their resolve to take strict action against illegal entries and safeguard the border. These consistent efforts underline Assam’s dedication to upholding national security and deterring unlawful activities along its frontier.
