Assam Police Apprehends Cyber Criminal in Jorhat
Guwahati: Due to the recent increase in cybercrimes, Assam Police arrested a cybercriminal on Sunday in the Jorhat district.
The fraudster has been identified as Navam Shrotriya alias Piku.
Reports claim that Navam stole Rs. 16 lakhs from Lalit Shyam, a retired college principal, who had his account at the Punjab National Bank.
While addressing to media Lalit said, “I have no idea how they broke into my bank account and stole Rs. 16 lakhs. When I discovered that the fraudsters had stolen all of my savings, I proceeded to the Titabor Police Station to file a FIR. The fraudster was eventually apprehended by the police.”
“This is the first time I’ve heard of a situation like this. I was a retired college principal, and my savings were what they stole. I advise all Assamese folks to be alert of similar situations because I was a victim of this deception,” he added.
