Assam Police Apprehends Two Drug Peddlers in Separate Operations
Guwahati, 30th July: Assam Police took decisive action against drug trafficking, conducting an anti-drug drive in Jagiroad on Sunday, resulting in the apprehension of a youth named Rafiqul Hoque. The operation, which took place on Jagiroad College Road, led to the seizure of heroin and the youth’s scooty.
In another successful operation, the police in Chabua apprehended drug traffickers with a significant quantity of drugs. The seized drugs, valued at over Rs 15 lakh, were cleverly concealed in 18 soap boxes inside a Santro vehicle. The total quantity of drugs seized amounted to approximately 250 grams. The main suspect, Mukul Bora, was arrested in connection with the drug smuggling incident.
In an earlier breakthrough on July 29, the Darrang Police achieved a major success in Mangaldoi’s Dhula area by apprehending a drug dealer. The businessman, identified as Mubarak Ali, was arrested from his residence and the operation led to the recovery of a significant amount of drugs, including 132 drug containers and 32.2 grams of heroin hidden in two soap boxes.
The Assam Police’s proactive measures against drug peddlers and traffickers demonstrate their commitment to curbing the drug menace in the state. As these successful operations unfold, the police continue their relentless efforts to create a drug-free environment, ensuring the safety and well-being of the community.
