Assam Police Arrest Eight Suspected Cyber Criminals in Moirabari Raid

Guwahati, 19th September: In a significant crackdown on cyber crime, Assam police have arrested eight individuals in Moirabari, Morigaon district. The raid is part of a broader initiative targeting a notorious cyber crime syndicate operating in the region.

The operation led to the detention of key suspects including Jahanur Ali, Fardis Ali, Wakibur Rahman, Hussain Jahangir Ali, and Babul Islam. Authorities are also verifying the identities of three additional suspects apprehended during the raid.

One detainee showed severe health complications and was transferred to Nagaon Medical College for urgent medical treatment.

The Morigaon police are conducting detailed interrogations of the arrested individuals as part of their intensified efforts to dismantle cyber crime networks in the area. This recent action is part of a broader campaign by Assam’s law enforcement, which has led to the arrest and imprisonment of over 200 individuals involved in cyber crime over the past year.
