Guwahati: Anti-narcotics operation in Silchar of Assam resulted in the seizure of significant amounts of illegal substances and the arrest of one person on Tuesday.
According to reports, authorities carried out an anti-narcotics operation based on specific intelligence regarding an impending smuggling operation.
They intercepted one person quickly, and from his possession they seized a substantial quantity of illegal brown sugar.
Reportedly, up to 29 containers of brown sugar, each containing about 16 grammes, were seized by the police.
In addition, Pinku Bikash Das was detained by the police on suspicion of cocaine trafficking.
Officials also stated that he is being questioned. They added that the situation has been the subject of an inquiry, and that further information will be made public soon.
